Words on Stage
The big spoken word finale with Olivia El Sayed, Dominik Muheim, Leila Ladari, Michael Elsener and Häberli Oggier.
The popular format "Words on Stage" once again forms the crowning and crashing conclusion to the festival this year! The evening brings together a handpicked selection of Switzerland's most exciting standup comedians, hip-hop, and spoken word artists:
Häberli Oggier. The two Bernese, better known as the successful 079 musicians Lo & Leduc, also cause a sensation with their witty and clever spoken word programs. They tell stories about the characteristics of the fourth largest big cat in the world, about fear and how it works, and about what all of this has to do with language.
Olivia El Sayed is a columnist and wordsmith who masters the balance between depth and stunning comedy to perfection. Her bittersweet stories revolve around enduring feelings, breaking up and falling in love, about meatless meals with chicken legs in the basket, it's about double standards and voicelessness, it's about lying and being alone as a child in the back seat of the car.
Dominik Muheim is the current winner of the most prestigious cabaret award, the Salzburger Stier. The comedian confesses that he became a qualified teacher by accident. Equally unplanned, he holds a record as a stage artist: he has already won five different Swiss Poetry Slam champion titles. Wherever Muheim performs, there is a good mood. He dismantles our everyday lives with nothing but words into charming and highly absurd caricatures. And if he ever gets tongue-tied, he'll definitely get out of trouble with the right DJ Bobo quote.
Leila Ladari is half Swiss, half Austrian, half Tunisian, and bad at fractions. She spends half her time doing stand-up comedy, the other half acting, and the other half bringing shame upon her family. Because when it comes to her crude humor, the charismatic Basler knows no taboos. In the past, she wondered if women were even allowed to do so. In the meantime, even Swiss television wants to know how far Leila can go – and has created a new comedy format just for her: Leila's Fix.
Michael Elsener is a master of voice imitation. The satirist and stand-up comedian switches between his characters in a matter of seconds. He combines politics and humor with hilarious ease. He parodies celebrities and politicians so aptly that the Sonntagszeitung wrote about Michael: "Fast, surprising, topical. He is also the most talented impersonator."
The spectacle will be hosted by none other than Pablo Vögtli, co-host of the radio rap show "Bounce" on SRF Virus and presenter of "Cypher", Switzerland's biggest live rap event.
