The grand Spoken word finale, feat. Reeto von Gunten, Jule Weber (D), Christoph Simon, Fine Degen, Marco Gurtner
A spoken word spectacle with a fine selection of some of the best stage poets and language artists of the German-speaking world:
Reeto von Gunten, author and SRF3 radio presenter, has been performing on stage as a storyteller since 2003. The 'high priest of hipsters' (NZZ) has created a steadily growing audience with his famous slide evenings, a unique mixture of photo exhibition and storytelling performance.
Jule Weber (D), is one of the leading voices of the German-speaking spoken word scene. Since 2009, she has been touring with her texts in German-speaking countries and in 2012 won both the Hessian and the German-speaking poetry slam championships in the U20 category, and in 2019 she was awarded the Tully Award as the best German-speaking poet. With her content-dense and precisely written texts, she makes the audience listen breathlessly.
Christoph Simon, comedian and spoken-word author, is winner of the Salzburger Stier 2018, two-time Swiss champion in poetry slam and Olten cabaret casting winner. "Christoph Simon's work is awondrous amalgam of humor and melancholy, of modesty and honesty, of small tragedy and not much greater hope. A mixture rarer than a rare earth metal." (Das Magazin)
Fine Degen, the young shooting star of the Swiss slam scene. Born in Basel in 2001, Fine Degen is causing a stir with her virtuoso performances and profound lyrics, and is most often mentioned when it comes to naming the best spoken word newcomer at the moment.
Cachita first caused a stir in 2019 when she won the Band-it music competition with her light-hearted mix of hip-hop, Latin and RnB. Today, the 22-year-old Zurich native with Cuban roots is considered one of Switzerland's best female rappers: "Within two minutes and 37 seconds, she dismantled all the male males on Switzerland's biggest live hip-hop show." (Tages-Anzeiger).
The spectacle will be hosted by jack-of-all trades Marco Gurtner, a TV presenter, podcaster, musician and one of Switzerland's most successful slam poets. In 2019 he won the Swiss Championships, in 2013 he took the title in the U20 Championships in Poetry Slam.
