KT Gorique was born in Abidjan in 1991 to Ivorian and Italian parents and moved to Switzerland when she was eleven. She began rhyming at eight, dancing hip hop at eleven, and at only 21, she became the first woman, first Swiss, and youngest participant to win the "End of the Weak" rap battle in NYC, launching a career that spans acting (she won the award for "Best Actress" for her role in Brooklyn, among others), dance, and rap with her debut album Tentative de Survie. She plays shows from Senegal to Canada to Europe and is an integral part of the Swiss rap scene.
In 2019, she received the Swiss Music Award from the Federal Office of Culture.
