In 2019, Marlon James began his Dark Star trilogy, already considered a new magnus opus of fantasy literature, a queer blend of Game of Thrones and Black Panther. Each volume tells the same story from the point of view of a different protagonist, set in a fantasy world in the middle of Africa and peppered with excessive sex and violence. No wonder the film rights have already been sold.

Marlon James (born 1970 in Kingston, Jamaica) is considered one of the most important literary figures of his generation. His novels have been translated into more than twenty languages and honored with numerous awards. Among others, James was the first Jamaican to receive the Booker Prize (for his novel A Brief History of Seven Killings). Time Magazine counts him among the 100 most influential people.
