The Scottish author Irvine Welsh travels from his adopted home of Chicago for one of his rare appearances. He will be presenting his new novel The Blade Artist, which is set in the same universe as his world-famous first novel, Trainspotting.

Welsh fans will meet familiar characters in The Blade Artist. Together with his wife and two daughters, he leads a quiet life under the California sun. But then his son from his first marriage is murdered. Good to know

Following the reading with Irvine Welsh, we will show the film Trainspotting (1996) and look forward to seeing Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie again!
The drug drama based on the novel by Irvine Welsh is one of the most successful British films of all time; brilliantly acted, superbly written and just bursting with visual ideas. A darkly intoxicating, dirty masterpiece.
