Reading and concert

Frank Spilker

Lightness with depth

7.07.2017
Start: 21:00
Old Botanical Garden

The frontman of the famous Hamburg band Die Sterne plays songs from his solo and Sterne program and reads from his novel Es interessiert mich nicht, aber das kann ich nicht beweisen.

Frank Spilker
's trademark is his unmistakable voice. As frontman of the Hamburg band Die Sterne, he has left his mark on German music history since the 1990s. His talent is writing lyrics that are cryptic and ironic and move between politics and the private sphere with a wealth of quotations. Like hardly anyone else, he manages to create great thoughts with few words.

His novel Es interessiert mich nicht, aber das kann ich nicht beweisen. (I'm not interested, but I can't prove it) was recently published - a tragicomic story about failure and full of bizarre situation comedy. Spilker will read from it and play a selection of his best songs with guitar.

Poetry of Pop

Writing good songs is a fine art - Bob Dylan received the Nobel Prize in Literature for it. To mark the occasion, the new series is dedicated to the poetry of the pop song - with concerts by the most talented songwriters and music poets from Switzerland and abroad.

Good to know
