Dreams of Aliens. An Astrophysical Performance

The scientific findings and developments in astronomy, cosmology, and biology have always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for science fiction. Conversely, science fiction also exerts an important influence on science and technology. Ben Moore presents examples from research, but also from literature, art and film: what do they teach us about the future of life, existence, the universe?

Ben Moore is Professor of Cosmology and Astrophysics at the University of Zurich. The Briton is considered the "pop star of astrophysics" (Weltwoche), has written over 200 scientific papers on topics such as the origin of planets and galaxies, dark matter and dark energy, and does not remain in the ivory tower with his research: For the 2010 Zurich Street Parade, for example, he developed a Big Bang Love Mobile with his students.
