Poetry of Pop | Concert | open-air stage

Old Botanical Garden

The "Poetry of Pop" series is showcasing the most gifted songwriters and music poets from home and abroad. She definitely plays in this league: KT Gorique.

KT Gorique was born in 1991 in Abidjan, to Ivorian and Italian parents, and moved to Switzerland at the age of eleven. She began rhyming when she was eight, dancing Hip Hop at eleven, and was the first woman, first Swiss and youngest participant ever to win the Rap battle «End of the Week» in NYC at the age of 21. Her debut album «Tentative de Survie» launched a career spanning acting (she received the award for «Best Actress» for her role in «Brooklyn», in particular), dance and rap. She has performed in many countries, from Senegal to Canada and Europe, and is an essential part of Switzerland's rap scene. In 2019 she received the Swiss Music Prize of the Federal Office of Culture.
